Emma and Hannah’s Senior Portraits | Hamilton, NJ

These senior sessions were extra special, as Emma and Hannah are twins! They are graduating seniors from Mountain Lakes, NJ. They are SO excited for their next years in college!

These Class of 2021 seniors squeezed their session in before graduation. It worked out perfectly! They both wanted their session at the Sayen Gardens in Hamilton NJ. It’s a stunning location for senior portraits!

Even though we shot in one location, I made sure that their pics were unique from each other.

Emma

Emma’s session was up first.

I brought in my amazing makeup artist, Anna from AKO Artistry, to do her magic.

Anna is extra awesome because she provides makeup on location. She set up in the parking lot and got to work.

Emma wanted a very natural look. It’s important for all my senior clients to know that you don’t have to get all glammed up for your senior pics.

What’s important is that you feel and look like you!

There were so many blooming flowers around us. I tucked Emma into trees and bushes to take advantage of everything in bloom. I captured her surrounded by white, pink, and red flowers!

Emma was so sweet and easygoing. Not only is she stunning, but her outfit choices were perfect for these spots!

We finished her session on a bridge. Emma’s session includes bringing a friend for one look, and that friend was Hannah! We took a bunch of cute shots of them on the bridge.

Then, I invited mom to join in! I was so happy that mom hopped in for shots.

Sometimes, parents hesitate because they think they “don’t look good” (which is never true!!). But what is more important is that you get that special shot with your child! In a few years, you won’t care about your appearance, you’ll be glad you got that moment captured.

You can see what mom thought about the experience by reading her Google review here.

Hannah

Then, it was Hannah’s turn!

I wanted to make sure that Emma and Hannah’s images were distinct, so we moved along to different areas of the gardens for Hannah’s session.

We started at this gazebo. Then, we found this gorgeous purple tree. It was so unique and went so well with Hannah’s navy dress. I tucked her in the tree to get these shots. Hannah looks gorgeous!

Afterward, Hannah changed into a more casual outfit. We found a couple of other fun locations, including another bridge with a rocky stream.

Sayen Gardens has a small beautiful waterfall on its grounds. When they first decided on this location, I knew I wanted to photograph both of them in front of it.

We made our way onto the rocks to get into position. I went first to make sure everything was dry and sturdy. Then, I carefully posed them.

I didn’t realize I would be doing any rock climbing for these images, but it was absolutely worth it!

Finally, we did one more look. Emma and Hannah are off to college, so we shot some pics in their college tees! It was so sweet and fun to see them so excited for the next chapters of their lives.

They have a special bond unmatched and capturing it was an honor.

I am so thankful that they chose me to photograph them during some of their last moments together. I can only imagine what it must be like to move onto a different path from not only your best friend but your twin! But these girls’ bonds are eternally strong.

I know they will succeed in all of their endeavors and support each other endlessly.

I had such a great time at this senior session! Thank you to mom, for bringing the girls all the way down to Hamilton! Also big thanks to my lovely assistant Melanie, who took tons of behind-the-scenes footage.

Thank you to Emma and Hannah for making this day SO much fun!!
